"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." John 16:7 KJV

There are many religious groups today who have perverted the teaching on the works of the Holy Spirit. I feel strongly that God wants me to write for a few weeks on the minstry of the Holy Spirit. In our text verse we see that Jesus tells His disciples that he must go away. Christ came into this world for one main purpose. That purpose was to die on the cross for sinner as a payment for sin. Christ never intended to stay with them in the flesh.

Christ did however promise to send the Comforter to them. I believe that as we look at the works of the Holy Spirit we will see that his works were much the same as the works Christ did while on Earth. Christ sent him to help his people in His going away to the right hand of the Father. The Holy Spirit is one of part of the Trinity. There are many who deny the Trinity, but just beacuse we don’t completely understand something doesn’t mean we should not trust the word of God in it. Next week I will begin with the works and purpose of God the Holy Spirit. Amen!
